She was born in draperstown, county derry, northern ireland, the second of eleven children born to peter and eileen bradley. She taught at devereux for a few years before taking 10 years off to stay home to help nurture jen and kathy into the caring, independent, successful women they are today. She then resumed her teaching career at highland high school in blackwood, new jersey, teaching, advising the honor society, and working with the renaissance program.
